Immanuel, the God who is with us

Hope.
It is flimsy these days.
Fear
It is rampant.

The Holidays?
Maybe if we focused on what the meaning of Christmas really is, we would have a different perspective this year. We would still celebrate, but we would celebrate with hope and meaning.
This month this blog will be focusing on the Christmas story and this Messiah that came as a baby in a manger to save us from our sin and our selves. A little scripture each day, to keep the hope of the holiday alive in our hearts.

Be filled!

Matthew 1:18-22
This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: HIs mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins. All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel which means, God with us"

  • Reflect on the truth that Immanuel is the God who is With You!
  • Thank Him many times today that He is With You!
  • Hold on the the Truth of Christmas, Jesus, Immanuel is with you and will never leave you.
Hebrews 13:5
God has said,
"Never will I leave you;
Never will I forsake you."
So we say with confidence,
"The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid, what can man do to me?
Christmas Prayer
Father, I thank you for sending Jesus, Immanuel, the God who is with us. Help me to connect with the truth of the true meaning of Christmas this year, and be content because I have a helper who is the Lord of all.
